US Pension Trust — Important Disclosure & Disclaimer

US Pension Trust (“USPT”) provides information and assistance regarding insurance-based products, including annuities, life insurance a combination thereof or others. Please read the following disclosures carefully before purchasing or establishing any product through USPT.

  • Not an Investment. Investments generally come with risk of losing money. That is not the case here. Products offered through USPT are insurance products and are not represented by USPT as securities or direct investments in the stock market. USPT, its principals, representatives, and associates do not invest, trade, manage, or otherwise invest client funds or capital.
  • No Fiduciary Relationship. USPT, its principals, representatives, and associates do not act as financial fiduciaries, investment advisers, or investment managers. Information provided by USPT is intended to explain available insurance products and their features and should not be construed as individualized investment, legal, or tax advice.
  • No Customer-Paid Commission. Customers do not pay a separate sales commission directly to USPT or its associates for the purchase of an insurance product. Where applicable, compensation is paid by the issuing insurance company and may be reflected in the economics of the product.
  • Insurance Company Administration. Customer premiums and contributions are paid to and administered by the insurance company issuing the applicable policy or annuity contract. USPT does not hold, custody, invest, or maintain possession of customer funds.
  • Account Access. Once a policy or annuity contract has been established with the issuing insurance company, USPT, its principals, and associates do not have custody of or independent access to withdraw, transfer, or otherwise take funds from the customer's account. Account values, withdrawals, distributions, beneficiary provisions, and other contractual transactions are administered by the issuing insurance company subject to the terms of the contract.
  • Income and Payout Options. Annuity contracts may provide several income and payout options. Where available and selected, a Life Income with 10-Year Period Certain option generally provides income for the annuitant's lifetime, with payments guaranteed for at least the specified 10-year period. If the annuitant dies during that period, remaining guaranteed payments are generally payable to the designated beneficiary in accordance with the contract. Other payout options may be available. Customers should discuss available choices with their USPT associate and review the issuing carrier's contract before making an election.
  • Optional Benefits and Account Value. Certain standard or optional benefits, riders, withdrawals, charges, or elections may affect the policy's account value, benefit value, or amount available when income payments begin. The specific effect depends upon the product and contract selected.
  • Changes to Optional Benefits. Certain optional benefits or elections may be changed after a policy is in force when permitted by the applicable insurance contract and issuing carrier. Some benefits or elections may be irrevocable or subject to restrictions, charges, waiting periods, or other contractual limitations.
  • Financial Strength of Insurance Carriers. USPT's policy is to represent products issued by insurance companies rated A or better by AM Best at the time the product is offered by USPT. Financial-strength ratings are opinions of the rating agency, may change over time, and are not guarantees of an insurer's future performance or ability to satisfy every obligation.
  • Contract Controls. Product availability, guarantees, benefits, rates, surrender provisions, fees, exclusions, limitations, and payout options vary by insurance company and contract. Any guarantee is subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. In the event of a conflict between general information provided by USPT and the terms of an issued insurance contract, the insurance contract governs.
  • Changes to This Disclosure. USPT may revise this disclosure from time to time without prior notice. The version in effect when provided or displayed should be reviewed together with the applicable insurance carrier's product materials and contract.
